The Story of Talo Organic

Talo Organic began as a small pop-up, with a big vision to change the way we eat—and live. Founded by husband-and-wife duo, Graham and Nicole Honig, Talo was born out of their shared mission to bring the real, non-toxic, and healthy food they cooked for their family at home to the masses.

After years of searching for food that aligned with their values, they grew frustrated by the options available: food drenched in seed oils, cooked & served in plastic, and made with factory-farmed meat. It was a world where the idea of “healthy eating” felt almost like a joke. So, rather than continuing to settle to never eat out again, they decided to take matters into their own hands and create something different. Something real.

With no prior restaurant experience but a deep commitment to living a pure, organic lifestyle, Graham and Nicole went from making meals in their kitchen to creating a full-blown paradise of healthy eating. They set out to build a space where food wasn’t just nourishing— but a place where quality ingredients and sustainability met flavor in the most delicious ways.

A Better Way to Eat

Going "seed oil free" is the newest health trend, and for good reason. Seed oils is a catch-all term for highly processed oils such as Canola Oil, Vegetable Shortening, Safflower Oil, & Soybean Oil... to name a few. They often require many complex chemically induced steps to become edible for humans, in fact, Canola Oil was a further modified version of an industrial lubricant! These oils didn't really exist until the 1920s. They are found to cause inflammation, and thought to be perhaps the largest contributor to the health epidemic that has plagued America for the last 75+ years. At Talo Organic, we are leading the movement toward ancestral cooking fats including 100% Grass-Finished Beef Tallow, Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, & Organic Virgin Coconut Oil. Our cooking fats are stable under high eat, they contribute to an anti-inflammatory diet, and they are full of critical nutrients your body needs.

100% Grass-fed & Finished

The Way Nature Intended

Not all beef is created equal, and the difference matters more than most people realize. Nearly all of the beef consumed at restaurants or in prepared meals comes from cattle that are grain-fed and finished in industrial feedlots, where their natural diet is replaced with corn and soy to accelerate growth. This shift not only impacts the health of the animal, but also the nutritional quality of the meat itself.

100% grass-fed and grass-finished beef comes from cattle that are raised the way nature intended; grazing on pasture for their entire lives. This results in beef that is leaner, more nutrient-dense, and significantly higher in beneficial compounds like omega-3 fatty acids, conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), and fat-soluble vitamins such as A, D, E, and K. It also avoids the need for routine antibiotics and unnatural feeding practices commonly used in conventional systems.

Even “Grass-Fed Beef” can come from an animal that was finished on feed lots, as most cows spend the first year of their life on pasture eating grass, which allows them to label them as grass-fed, and then they’re shipped off to a feed lot for the last 4-12 months. 

At Talo Organic, we believe that what the animal eats matters just as much as what you eat. That’s why we use only 100% grass-fed and grass-finished beef across our menu. It’s cleaner, more natural, and more aligned with how humans were designed to interact with nature. We verify with our suppliers to ensure that the animals spend all of their life on pasture, and they’re only fed grass as nature intended.

What kind of restaurant is Talo Organic?

We are primarily a takeout and delivery concept that offers online ordering via our website and all major delivery apps. Our Venice location does have an onsite kiosk with a nice shared dining space. You can also order our separate meal prep service for home delivery to most of Los Angeles & Orange County!

Can you change my order?

You can change, edit, or cancel your online order via the confirmation email you should have received. Please reach out to us via the contact us tab on our website if you have any issues.

How do I edit, skip, or cancel my subscription?

You can edit, skip, or cancel your subscription orders via an email you should have received from notification@app.subscription.appstle.comafter your initial subscribe & save order. Are you 100% Gluten-Free?

Yes! The founder’s wife and her sister both have Celiac’s so the concept was designed with them in mind. Nothing on our menu contains gluten so there’s no risk of cross-contamination. Some of our seasonings are certified gluten free. Some seasonings and other ingredients we can’t “guarantee” they were produced in a certified GF Facility, such as our tortillas are manufactured on separate machinery that is never shared; however, they are not certified by a third party to be “gluten-free”.

What kind of cooking oils do you use?

We use 100% Grass-Fed & Pasture-Raised Beef Tallow without any additives such as BHT or Deoderizers in our fryers and on the grills. We use Organic Virgin Unrefined Coconut Oil in our organic rice, and Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil in a glass bottle for some of our sauces & dressings.

Is everything 100% certified USDA Organic?

No. There are three ingredients that we commonly use the conventional versions of. That is Pineapple, Avocado, & Corn. The reason is these are extremely difficult to source organic versions of, and they just so happen to be the Top 3 on the “Clean Fifteen” List. This means they have essentially no detectable traces of pesticides on these products. As we build out our one-of-a-kind supply chain we are excited to eventually source all products that are organic or regenerative. Our Beef is also not USDA Organic because our small regenerative farms have higher standards than the organic label & don’t want to pay for the certification.

I have a nut allergy, what can I have?

None of our menu items or ingredients have nuts (other than coconut oil); however, some of the ingredients we source might be produced in facilities that also produce nuts.

Do you offer gift cards?

Do you offer catering?
